Just a couple of months ago, Leonard Fournette was the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. But now, the LSU running back isn't even be invited to the iconic award ceremony in New York City.

Finalists named are Alabama tailback Derrick Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford tailback Christian McCaffrey.

Fournette finished the season with 1,741 yards and 18 touchdowns, breaking LSU’s single-season rushing record previously set by Charles Alexander in 1977. However, he slumped during the Tigers' three game losing streak, running for only 230 yards and two scores in those losses.

Although Fournette wasn’t named a finalist this year, he will likely be a pre-season favorite for the award next year.
