Who knows what is actually in all those packages you see being dropped off at houses in your  neighborhood. I would imagine if your house is like my house you might get a parcel that contains clothes or books. Your brown box might contain a toy or a gift for a loved one. However in one Louisiana town that innocent looking brown box contained slightly over five pounds of high grade marijuana.

Postal inspectors alerted authorities in Kenner Louisiana that there systems had identified a suspicious package. That package was set to be delivered to a home on Normandy Drive in Kenner. When the parcel was left on the doorstep authorities waited to see who would pick it up.

They didn't have to wait long for Christopher Broussard, 34, of Metairie, and Sheena Lopez, 32, of Lafitte to drive up to the residence and retrieve the package. Once the package had been stored in the couples vehicle they drove away. It was few blocks later that authorities stopped the white SUV the couple was riding in and searched the contents.

In addition to 5.6 pounds of pot other drug paraphernalia was discovered. This according to a report published on NOLA.com.  Broussard was found to be in possession of a syringe. He explained that he was a heroin addict. Meanwhile Lopez admitted to hiding a syringe between her butt cheeks.

Broussard was booked on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and two counts of unauthorized entry of a residence. Lopez was booked for a probation violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of being a fugitive from another jurisdiction and four traffic attachments.

At the time of this report it was unclear if either Broussard or Lopez had any actual ties to the residence where the marijuana was mailed.
