A Shreveport man is facing drug charges after being the victim of a supposed armed robbery.

36-year-old Cortez Lemont Mason was arrested after police were called to the parking lot of the Chili’s Restaurant in the 3000 block of East Texas Street late Sunday night. Upon arriving on the scene, officers made contact with Mason who reported that two unknown male subjects, one of whom was armed with a firearm, approached him as he sat in his car and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect with the firearm then reportedly fled in a vehicle believed to be a gray Chevrolet Malibu. The second suspect got away in a different vehicle, possibly a maroon Chevrolet Impala. Mason was treated at the scene by Bossier City Fire Department personnel for a cut on his hand. Mason told officers he received the injury during the incident.

However, while investigating the robbery, officers found suspected cocaine on Mason and in his vehicle. He was subsequently booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and was later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.

At this time, police have made no arrests in connection with the reported armed robbery. Anyone who may have information about it is asked to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
