One man has died in a shooting not too far from downtown Shreveport. This shooting happened at about 4 Thursday morning in the 1100 block of Airport Drive.

Officers at the scene found a man deceased in a car. Another man was shot in the leg. He was outside of the car. He's expected to recover. Detectives believe the shooting started on the Clyde Fant Parkway. Few details are available about what sparked the violence.

Just after 4:00 a.m. on July 14, 2016, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Airport Drive relative to a shooting. As officers arrived on the scene, they immediately discovered two men, associated with a bullet riddled, sport utility vehicle, were suffering gunshot wounds to various portions of their bodies. Authorities located one of the victims, an adult male, seated in the driver's seat of the vehicle, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene. A second male victim, a 23 year old Shreveport man, was transported from the scene via ambulance, suffering what was described as a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
