Mardi Gras is already in full swing and because it's a short season this year, we've got events stacked on top of events! If you're a Mardi Gras reveler, you're in luck this weekend!

Bal season kicks off this Friday, January 8th with one of our all female krewes, the Krewe de les Femmes Mystique Grand Bal at DiamondJacks. Doors open at 6:30 and dinner will be served at 7:00. Tableau will begin at 8:00 with music following by SiDE fX. Dress is black tie and they will have a cash bar. Tickets are $85 and tickets aren't available at the door so check out the Les Femmes website to purchase yours. More information: 318-465-3889 or belindaj@mcmichael-La.com

The party continues Saturday in Springhill with the Krewe of Artemis Grand Bal at the Springhill Civic Center. This year's theme is Fantasy Island and the event is usually one of my favorites because they have an indoor parade complete with throws, etc... using golf carts! Doors open at 7:00pm with Tableau at 8:00pm. Dress is black tie optional and heavy hors d'oeurves will be provided. Soft drinks will also be provided by alcohol is BYOB. Find out more by calling (318) 539-5951.

Another big event Saturday night, which I just happen to be hosting, is the Krewe of Elders Grand Bal at the Shreveport Civic Center. Dress is black tie optional and the theme is 'Island of the Elders.' Doors open at 5:30pm followed by a seated dinner at 6:30pm. Tableau will kick off at 7:30pm followed by music by Ambush. One of my favorite things about Elders events is that there's always tons of dancing! Get your tickets today! $55 for members, $65 for all others.

Sunday, January 10th, join the animal krewe, the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux for their 'Harry Pawter Jazz Brunch' at El Dorado Hotel and Casino. I love this event because they always have a great live and silent auction and it's a great chance to sip coffee and have breakfast for lunch with your Mardi Gras buddies! Brunch starts at 12:00pm and the presentation begins at 1:30pm. Mimosas are complimentary, but it's cash bar for those who choose to enjoy a cocktail. Dress is cocktail 'dressy.'
