Mariah Carey has a full dance card. In addition to her new stint as a judge on ‘American Idol,’ the 42-year-old singer has reportedly signed on to join the cast of forthcoming biopic ‘The Butler.’

According to W.E.N.N., the R&B star will reunited with ‘Precious’ director Lee Daniels for the film, which follows the life of butler Eugene Allen, who served under eight U.S. presidents over the course of three decades. Carey will share the screen with an all-star cast, including Forest Whitaker as Allen and Oprah Winfrey, who plays his wife.

Filming has already begun on the New Orleans set, though Carey’s exact role has not yet been confirmed. The cast is rounded out by more Hollywood A-listers, including Liam Neeson, Zac Efron, Robin Williams and Nicole Kidman. James Marsden will play John F. Kennedy; Minka Kelly will star as Jackie Kennedy; John Cusack has been cast as Richard Nixon; and Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda have landed the roles of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

On July 23, Fox announced that Carey has officially been added to the ‘American Idol’ judges panel for Season 12, which kicks off in next year. 2012 will likely be huge for the singer/actress, as ‘The Butler’ is also set to be released then.
