If someone parks illegally downtown, or doesn't pay parking tickets, Shreveport police can put a boot on the car.

But what is a city mayor to do if the parking laws continue to be ignored?

Well, one mayor in Lithuania has come up with a way to convince motorists to obey the laws by using a tank!

According to reports, the city of Vilnius has a problem with drivers parking in, and blocking, bike lanes.

Some citizens had been using pictures posted to social networking sites to embarrass drivers... But that wasn't doing the job.

So Mayor Zoukas, a bike rider himself,  decided that a tank would convince drivers that he was serious.

"I've had enough of these drivers parking their luxury cars on bike lanes and pedestrian crossings. This tank is a good tool to solve the problem of parking in the wrong place," he told reporters.
