Shreveport's proposed budget for 2016 is 6% higher than the 2015 budget. We caught up with Mayor Ollie Tyler to discuss some of the details about her budget package which will be presented to the City Council on October 13th.The public will have a chance to offer input on the budget during a public hearing on November 10th

The City Council has until December 15th to pass the final budget package for next year. The panel is expected to hold budget hearings to look at the numbers from each department and review where belt tightening can happen.
Mayor Tyler says she has found some inefficiencies in a few areas and she's made adjustments to those line items. The Mayor does want to focus on public safety, our city's infrastructure and quality of life.
