That headline may sound like the sort of fake movie that characters would make fun of in another, better movie, but it is most certainly real. Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman are teaming up for Game Night, a new film from Vacation filmmaking duo (and Spider-Man: Homecoming scribes) John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Though the title implies a fairly basic comedy setup, this one comes with a twist — well, two twists, really, since this also happens to be a Rachel McAdams movie in which she doesn’t fall in love with a time-traveler, for once.

THR reports that McAdams and Bateman are set to star in Game Night, which centers on “a group of couples who gather for their regularly planned game night when something goes murderously wrong.” And there’s your twist. The project has been in development for quite some time, but only recently picked up steam when Daley and Goldstein came aboard and convinced McAdams to star. The duo, who previously worked with Bateman on Horrible Bosses, wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay and will direct the film.

With the exception of her recent supporting role in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, most of McAdams’ recent projects have been of the dramatic sort, including True Detective Season 2 (yes, that really happened; you didn’t dream it) and Spotlight (which earned her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod). Bateman last appeared in Office Christmas Party and recently filmed Ozark, an upcoming drama series he’s executive producing and starring in for Netflix.
