A Minden woman is arrested for murdering her son and attempting to murder another lady inside a vehicle on I-20 late Saturday night.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington says 47-year-old Dora Blake has been booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for first degree murder and attempted first degree murder after she shot her son, 22-year-old Patrick Hollingsworth -- who also goes by Patrick Watkins -- and a female passenger in her 40's.

Sheriff Whittington says the three were headed east on I-20, headed toward Jonesboro or Minden, after visiting a casino in Bossier City. They were out celebrating Blake's birthday, when Blake pulled a handgun that was in the vehicle and shot the two in the front seat. Hollingsworth, who was driving, crashed the car around mile marker 36.

Witnesses who had pulled over to help told deputies that Blake, who was in the back seat, got out of the car and said she had been kidnapped and that she had shot the two other people in the car.

Hollingsworth, who was originally from Jonesboro but living in Shreveport, was found dead in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the head. The front-seat passenger was shot in the shoulder and was taken to University Health with a non-life-threatening wound.

Blake was transported to the hospital for medical observation, then arrested on the murder charges. Detectives say she was highly intoxicated.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
