Earlier in the week, Oil City saw fire action.

And now, the hard working firefighters are back out fighting a new fire.

Shortly before 3pm, fire crews from Caddo Fire District 8 and 7 were dispatched out to a large pasture fire in northern Caddo Parish, near Vivian.

Before 4pm, Caddo Parish Fire District 8 requested assistance from the Caddo Sheriff's Office in evacuating residences on Cross Creek Street and Murray Lane in Vivian.

So far, this fire has encompassed 20-26 acres.  There are several structures involved including homes and barnes, but there are no reports of injuries at this time.

Residents are being encouraged to leave their homes at this time.
