Morning Seatbelt Checkpoint Planned

The Shreveport Police Department will conduct a safety checkpoint tomorrow in south Shreveport.  

The checkpoint will be held Friday morning, May 27, 2011 as an integral component of an ongoing, singular commitment on the part of authorities to reduce the number of deaths and injuries reported on our roadways.

Officers will be checking primarily for seatbelt violations as part of the nationwide “Click it or Ticket” initiative but will also be on the look out for impaired drivers or any other violations that could compromise the safety of motorists and pedestrians. 

Please join us in our efforts to prevent traffic fatalities in 2011 and always remember to wear your seatbelt.
