The reigning, defending, undisputed champions of the North American Hockey League are back and ready to start defending their title. The puck will drop at George's Pond for the first time of the 2018-2019 season Friday night as the Shreveport Mudbugs have their first pre-season game of the year.

Last year was a magical year where the Bugs won their first championship since joining the NAHL. Since winning the championship, a lot has changed for the Bugs. A lot of their star players have moved on to college. They have a new head coach and assistant general manager. The one thing that hasn't changed is an expectation of success. Regardless of the league or decade, the Shreveport Mudbugs have a winning track record built on the spirit of long time players/coaches/managers like Scott Muscutt and Jason Campbell.

You can see the Bugs take on the Springfield Jr Blues this weekend at George's Pond. Since it is just a pre-season exhibition game, tickets are only 10 dollars! If you've never been to a game, this is a great time to go and check out everything the Pond has to offer. If you're a long time Mudbugs fan, this is an opportunity to see what the new look Bugs have in store for the season and to get a little preview of how the Mudbugs plan to defend their NAHL Championship.

You can find more details on the game and all up coming events on the Shreveport Mudbugs Facebook page.
