Once again this year, the city of Natchitoches is getting ready to kick off the Christmas season with the Festival Of Lights.

The Big 85th Annual festival with the parade is Saturday, December 3rd. Then, there are mini-festivals every weekend in December.

But this weekend is when activities get started with "Turn On The Holidays." The Festival Of Lights opening ceremony is this Saturday at 6:30pm, with free fireworks at 7pm.

If you've never experienced Natchitoches this time of year, imagine... 300,000 Christmas lights, over 100 lighted pieces on the riverbank, live music, and a huge fireworks display!

Plus, it's a chance to sneak into Lasyone's for a meat pie! Even with the huge crowd last year, I only had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated.
