Mars, Inc. is recalling its 3.4 ounce theater M&M box products because boxes that are supposed to only contain chocolate could contain peanut butter.

The U.S. Department of Food Safety and Agriculture says the product box is labeled incorrectly, but the inside package is correct.

So far, there have been no reports of illness due to mislabeled packaging.

The boxes were shipped and distributed to customer warehouses between May 8th and July 1st in the following states: NC, TX, MN, IL, FL, KY, MS, AZ, GA, AI, CA NJ, PA, WA NY, CO, MO, MI, NH, CT, TN, MD, SC, OH, ME, VA, RI, WI, WV, IA, LA, OK, MA, NE, OK, AR, VT, ID and IN. The boxes are then redistributed nationwide for retail sale.

Consumers that have purchased this product and are worried about possible allergies, can return the product to the store where purchased for a refund.
