Natural Gas Leaking Off Ellerbe Road In Far Southeast Shreveport

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is currently working  a gas line rupture on Ellerbe Road. Deputies say a pick-up truck was southbound on Ellerbe when the driver swerved to miss a dog. The driver lost control and hit an above-ground natural gas pipeline, rupturing the line. The driver was not injured. Caddo Sheriff’s deputies and Fire District 5 responded to the scene and have closed a three-quarter mile area surrounding the ruptured line while repairs are made. One house has been evacuated. The gas line belongs to JW Operating. Ellerbe Road between Robson and Leonard is closed to traffic. Parts of Robson are also closed. 

The sheriff is on scene at Ellerbe and Leonard Road.

The closed roadways are expected to reopen late this evening.
