The Bossier City Police Department welcomed ten new officers into its ranks today from what is the largest class of new recruits to join the department in recent years.

Chief of Police Shane McWilliams administered oaths this morning to Police Officers Landon Taylor Boone, Chad Nicholas Gray, Dion Lewis Hunt, Brandon Lee Kowalzek, Adam Mastrodomenico, William Thomas Messina Jr., Camille Noel Stewart, Michael Everett Vetkoetter, Jonathan Lee Walsh and Justin Phillip Wardell.

The officers have wrapped up a 12-week training program at the Bossier Sheriff’s North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy and have earned their Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) certification.

After graduating from academy on Friday, November 13, the new officers will begin a 4-week long departmental training program for instruction in Bossier City Police Department policies and procedures. Upon completing that program, the officers will spend three months riding patrol with Field Training Officers before being assigned to the patrol division.
