Louisiana State Police have charged a 65-year-old New Orleans resident with one count each of felony theft, possession of stolen property and obstructing justice.

The arrest came following an investigation into a theft from inside the State Capitol building. A brown leather case file containing an iPad, keyboard case and various documents were stolen.

Detectives developed information leading to a residence on Ursulines Avenue, where they made contact with James "Jimmy" Fahrenholtz. He denied knowledge of the theft or the stolen property. Troopers got a search warrant and found the stolen items inside Fahrenholtz's home.

Investigators believe Fahrenholtz stole the items and attempted to conceal and destroy the property before speaking with them. He's charged on warrants out of East Baton Rouge Parish and Orleans Parish. He turned himself in to detectives yesterday.
