New Scam in Our Area Offers Jobs for Payment

The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office is warning of a new scam where people are promised job in exchange for cash. Officers say residents are being approached with a job offer at Motiva in Beaumont, Texas. However, to get proper TSA work credentials, you have to pay $100.

Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle says that these jobs simply don't exist. The person collecting the money from residents has been taken into custody, however police believe this person was scammed as well and didn't realize he was committing a crime.

A suspect has been tentatively identified and police are currently trying to track that person down.
