Earlier this morning, the Internet was buzzing with stories that the NFL was going to fine players if they wore uniforms paying tribute to the fallen heroes of 9/11.

Luckily, either they finally thought better of it… Or there was enough outrage to change their minds!

This afternoon, NFL spokesman Michael Signora tweeted:

No matter what the “official” NFL policy was going to be, several players had announced that they would wear the special 9/11 apparel no matter what… And would happily pay any fines.

The NFL has also stated that they will be helping to donate $1 million to different 9/11 memorials and charities.
