"True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto is one step closer to to bringing his crime novel "Galveston" to the big screen. And lucky for us, Louisiana looks to be the frontrunner for the location in which the film will be shot.

Nola.com is reporting that filming for "Galveston," which was Pizzolatto's debut novel, is set to begin this October.

Pizzolatto is no stranger to Louisiana, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he wanted "Galveston" filmed in the Hollywood South -- not only because of Louisiana's film-friendly tax incentives, but also because Pizzolatto was born in New Orleans and went to college at LSU.
