The Northwestern State University campus is offering 50 summer camps and workshops hosted by the university beginning June 1.

Camps being offered include: band, art and music camps, Louisiana Boys State and Girls State, cheerleading and sports camps, Project Lead the Way, the ADVANCE Program for Young Scholars, the Louisiana Association of Student Councils, Energy Camp Louisiana and more.

“Summer camps are often a student’s first introduction to a university so we do all we can to make a good first impression,” said Assistant Vice President of External Affairs and Executive Director of the NSU Foundation Dr. Chris Maggio. “Students from around the state and east Texas are exposed to all Northwestern has to offer in a summer camp before they even start thinking about college. They often remember us when they make a college decision because they enjoyed their experience and made friends at a summer camp we hosted.”
