Looks like the third time is the charm for Shreveport. Bossier Parish leaders won the two earlier red kettle challenges this year, but on Thursday, Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler grabbed the win in a friendly competition with Bossier City Mayor Lo Walker.

The two mayors rang the red kettle bell from 10:00am – 12:30pm Thursday. Mayor Tyler was at Brookshire’s on Line Avenue in Shreveport and Mayor Walker was at Kroger’s on Airline Drive.

Mayor Tyler brought in in $547.94.  Mayor Lo Walker brought in nearly $200 with a final kettle count of $179.69. Mayor Tyler’s win comes on the heels of two previous red kettle challenges among the schools and sheriff’s offices in Caddo and Bossier Parish.
