Our Top Shreveport/Bossier City Weekend Events Friday, October 13 – Sunday, October 15

Shreveport is the home for the 9th Annual Brew Festival this Saturday from 2-6pm in Festival Plaza. It'll be an afternoon of sampling tons of different beers from international ales, to domestic pilsners, to local stouts! Tickets are $70 to sample over 150 brews, hear great live music, watch this weekend's top college football games and nosh on delicious foods from some of Shreveport’s most popular restaurants.

Sure, Brew Bash is a warm up to the 9th Annual Brew, but in it's second year, it's already so big, it deserves it's own listing. The event is Friday from 6-9pm in Festival Plaza and is presented by Reinhart Foods. Limited tickets will be available for $15 at the gate. Of course, you'll be able to sample a plethora of beers, but you'll also get to see 8 chefs compete for the title of best burger and this year, they're even introducing brisket!

This Friday and Saturday mark the 34th Annual Springhill Lumberjack Festival! There will be tons to do for the entire family with a parade, live music, a gumbo cook-off, a car and tractor show, hospital bed races and more! The event is held at Frank Anthony RV Park in Springhill, LA.

Artspace is the place to be this Friday night from 6-10pm as William Joyce conjures up an apocalyptical ball fit for the scariest fiends featuring “Boo Bites,” skeletal snacks, a Monster Mash and Scare-e-okie all for a $10 admission with a cash bar. Remember, Mr. Joyce says, “Only the UnDead don’t wear a costume!”

Mardi Gras is truly 24/7/365 in northwest Louisiana and the Krewe of Justinian is proving that this Friday starting at 7pm with their 'Cruisin' to Cuba' Midway to Mardi Gras Party at the Petroleum Club of Shreveport. Dress in your favorite Cuban attire and get ready to enjoy some Cuban culinary delights with music by Ambush. Tickets are $45.

The Mudbugs are back in action on home ice this Friday and Saturday on George's Pond in Hirsch Memorial Coliseum! Game time is 7:11pm for both nights and the Mudbugs will be celebrating their patriotism by honoring local first responders and military. The Mudbugs will be taking on the Corpus Christi IceRays.
