In a survey of 600 randomly chosen registered voters, 72% said they favor making medical marijuana available to treat a wider variety of ailments, like epilepsy and HIV.  And even more surprising, according to Jesse McCormick, President of the Louisiana Cannabis Association, is that 56% of those same voters also favored allowing the legislature to tax the heck out of it, which was "pretty eye opening'', according to McCormick.

There are 24 other states that currently have legal medical marijuana available, and McCormick says he understands there will always be opposition to it. He wish is simply that this poll encourages more politicians to at least consider it.  The difference it would make to those who suffer is incalculable.  "Any relief that you can provide that person is worth it, because they're going through something a healthy person can't understand.'', McCormick said.

In closing I'll slather on some unsolicited and completely biased opinion of my own: I would bet that not one of those opposed to allowing those who suffer greater access to relief currently have a loved one who is suffering themselves. Louisiana is dead last in so many categories that matter, maybe just once we could be at the forefront of something that benefits so many....
