Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is pointing fingers for his spiral into drug use, and he’s pointing them at Paris Hilton.

Carter claims in his new memoir that the hotel heiress and her own hard partying led him down a dangerous path of self-destruction.

“Paris was the worst person in the world for me to hook up with,” he wrote in his new memoir ‘Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It’ (via Radar Online).

Carter claims that the old money, nouveau DJ, who he dated from 2003 to 2004, “fed [his] worst impulses as far as partying.” Problem is, those impulses were probably already there before Hilton got involved. The man did (and does) have a mind of his own.

“During the height of my problems, I did Ecstasy, cocaine and drank a large bottle of vodka a night,” Carter confessed. He also admitted that ecstasy was the biggest of his “problems.” “The amount I did caused changes to my brain that are responsible for my bouts of depression now.”

Thankfully, Carter is sober now and back with the Backstreet Boys, but he admits, “I could’ve ended up a tragedy.”
