UPDATE: Patti LaBelle Fight with Aretha Franklin Is a Hoax

Both divas were in Atlanta for an R&B/Soul concert last month when they ran into each other backstage. The two have been in a feud since they had a run-in at the White House “Women of Soul” concert.

LaBelle believed Franklin completely dissed her at that event. Fast forward to the Atlanta event where they run into each other again. LaBelle tried to approach Franklin to try to talk things out, but Franklin once again brushed her off again.

Reports indicate LaBelle quickly removed her wig and earrings as she approached Franklin. Patti threw two punches, one of them landing on the side of Aretha's face.

Bystanders subdued LaBelle and escorted her outside of the venue. Franklin suffered only minor injuries. LaBelle will appear in court on Wednesday.

The fake report was published on satire website The News Nerd over the weekend. But on Monday, it was shared thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter.
