Shreveport Police officers have converged on the Eden Gardens Neighborhood for a grass roots operation geared towards addressing the recent issues of shots fired, quality of life matters along with other recently reported issues.

This operation will run most of the day and will include members of the Community Response Unit, Community Liaison Officers along with other SPD personnel. Officers have set up the Mobile Command Center in the parking lot of the Mt Olive Baptist Church on Turner Lane.

Residents have been complaining for months about the lack of a police presence in the neighborhood and this will be a step in the right direction for many neighborhood leaders.

Eden Gardens is not the only neighborhood where residents have called for more police patrols. Residents in the MLK area, Cedar Grove, Mooretown, Broadmoor and Highland are just of a few of the areas where folks would like to see more active patrolling by the Shreveport Police Department.
