Early Pregnancy and Preparation- $29

In this class, you will learn the following: questions to ask your doctor and hospital; what happens if you and your doctor don’t agree on something; what is happening to your body and is there anything you can do to help; prenatal exercise to help prepare for childbirth; nutrition; pregnancy fears and questions; options and decisions you can start thinking about. 

It’s Your Birth, Have It Your Way-$49

Monday, 10/10- Tuesday, 10/11

6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This class will help you discover the options that you have during labor and delivery. We will also discuss how to communicate your desires to your doctor and your hospital. You will learn about birthing plans and having a backup plan “B” and even a plan “C.” Options that will be discussed include the following: wearing your own clothing, IVs, eating & drinking, inductions, and episiotomies, rupture of membranes, types of fetal monitoring, medications available, various positions, moving around, bonding, cord blood banking, newborn procedures, and your birth team. 

Epidurals and Other Medications for Labor-$29

In this class, we will discuss the pros and cons of epidurals and other medications along with the side effects, so you can make an informed decision when the time comes. 

Ways to Reduce Your Chances of Having a C-Section-$29

We will discuss the following things you can do to lessen your chances of having a cesarean surgical birth. Topics will include: VBAC, induction, optimal fetal positioning, preparation for birth, normal labor, and normal variations of labor, medications, your support team, questions to ask your doctor and a question and answer time.

Comfort Measures for Labor and Delivery-$49

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

This class will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on practice. The class will start with an overview of the stages of labor, some of the common variations, and what to expect in labor. Why is there pain in labor, what is it like, and what can you do about it? Some of the topics include the following: labor and delivery positions, breathing and relaxation techniques, factors that affect pain, optimal fetal positioning, who to have on your support team, doulas, what to take to the hospital with you and creating the environment you want. Bring a blanket and two pillows.

Preparing for Postpartum-$39

6:00 pm – 9:00pm

This class will help you prepare now for the first few months after your baby is born. Topics will include the following: who will help you, how much help will you need, when will you rest, what can dad do to help, baby blues, postpartum depression, meals, cleaning, what will your baby need, feeding, diapering, cloth diapers, finding a pediatrician and basic newborn care.
