It was all over the internet today: 'Comedy legend Phyllis Diller dead at 95.' One little problem, though: Ms. Diller passed away last August. But what a perfect time to remember exactly what she meant to three generations of female comics.

She was a housewife from Ohio who didn't take to the stage until she was 37. And from there she became one of show biz's biggest stars and a pioneer who paved the way for female comedians including Roseanne Barr, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen DeGeneres and Chelsea Handler.

Roseanne called her 'a true original who inspired me.' And said Whoopi, 'A true original.'

Take a look at this 1960's performance and see if you don't agree!
