The Shreveport Police Department’s door-to-door crime fighting initiative will be stopping in the Cedars neighborhood tomorrow evening.

Chief of Police Willie Shaw will join community liaison officers, neighborhood assistance team officers and other city officials at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the parking lot of Southwood High School in the 9000 block of Walker Road for a brief roll call.  From there they will canvass the neighborhood on foot, going door to door visiting with residents regarding crime and quality of life issues.  Officers plan to visit about 125 homes.

As part of the department’s commitment to better serve the citizens of Shreveport, officers will be distributing crime prevention information and police contact numbers to residents so they will have the necessary resources to address problems in their neighborhood.  Our media partners are invited to join us as we work together with our neighbors to make Shreveport an even safer place to live, work, and play.
