One of the greatest spots to enjoy a summer weekend is out at the Grand Bayou Resort, but low water levels on the lake could change things for this Labor Day weekend.

The resort, which is just a few miles from Coushatta will have restrictions in place for the weekend. The lake level is down by about four feet. The result is that business is very slow during a time when things would normally be booming. Due to the low water level, the Grand Bayou District Commission has put in place restrictions that could send even more people looking for other areas to enjoy the holiday weekend. No more jet skiing, water skiing, or tubing until further notice. And the beach is open only to registered guests. It will not be open to the general public for this weekend. The complex has 13 lodges and cabins plus 60 RV sites. Most are empty.
