I saw this last Sunday on HWY 371 in Sibley, LA on my way to a float workday for the Krewe of Akewa and it really got me to thinking... When did we get so sensitive?

I understand the need for a degree political correctness and basic civility to others with respect to the fact that they are fellow human beings, but are we going overboard? Have we forgotten about, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?' When did we cross the line? Our country was founded on religious freedom and as an extension, the right to think your own thoughts, come to your own conclusions and the right to voice said opinions, no matter how absurd others my find them. Why do we constantly try to silence each other?

Why are we trying to re-write history? Edmund Burke had it right when he said, “Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.”

It's not the time to brush things under the rug. Frankly, we've done that long enough and look where it's gotten us. I think it's time to face things head on and call them for what they are. The minority has been over-ruling the majority for way too long.

I'm not trying to go off on a political tangent here, but seriously, why can't we all get along and respect each other? You just can't legislate people's thoughts, only their hearts can do that.
