“Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” Turns 50
The beloved animated holiday classic "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" turns 50 years old this year.
Who doesn't love Rudolph?? "Rudolph" first premiered on December 6, 1964 using puppets and stop-motion technology to tell the tale of the nose-glowing reindeer misfit who helped guide Santa's sleigh.
It was narrated by Burl Ives and features Ives' rendition of the classic theme song. Still a fan favorite, "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" has been broadcast every year since its premiere, making it the longest running holiday special.
The next chance to see "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" will be Tuesday, December 9 on CBS.
