Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler has named Scott Wolverton as the new fire chief of the Shreveport Fire Department.

Wolverton was chosen from six finalists who have all worked in the department.

Scott Wolverton has served for 22 years. He was most recently the chief of special operations and safety at the fire administration.

Wolverton replaces Craig Mulford, who was fired in September after he was indicted on five counts of malfeasance in office. Mulford allegedly violated administrative policies in connection with the Fire Station 8 scandal. He is fighting for his job back.
