For the last 18 years if you wanted to watch your beloved LSU Tigers battle it out in the SEC tournament you were on your way to Hoover, Alabama. However, that may finally be changing.

The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has submitted a bid to host the tournament at Zephyr field in Metairie from 2017 to 2021. Citing the draw of New Orleans, its 20,000 hotel rooms and the most rabid college baseball fan base in the south, GNOSF President Jay Cicero believes his group's bid to be the strongest in the field of cities competing the event and the added revenue that comes with it. Cicero said the areas experience hosting both Final Fours and Super Bowls should play well with the committee as well. A decision is expected at the end of this year's tournament.
