Second Annual Dentistry from the Heart Event Set for This Weekend

Doctors and staff of A Brighter Smile Dental Care are hosting a day of free dentistry for the community.

The first 120 patients who come in Saturday, January 17, get a free cleaning, filling or extraction. The event runs from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

"Hosting this event is a way for us to give back to the community that has given us so much," said Dr. Michael Wiesner, who established the clinic in 2007, in a news release.

Dr. David Clark and the staff of Oral Surgery Associates join A Brighter Smile in offering free dental treatment again this year. All those involved volunteer their time and services.

The Dentistry from the Heart program goes back to 2001, when Dr. Vincent Monicciolo started it as a way of giving back to the community and providing for the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. There are more than 200 annual events around the world, with over 80,000 people served.
