Make sure you're watching the new TV singing competition Rising Star on ABC tonight because we've been told you'll be able to see a familiar face... and no, we're not talking about Brad Paisley, Ke$ha, Josh Groban or Ludacris! We're talking about Egypt Dixon from Texarkana! My friend Teresa Farnham is good friends with her mother and has been following Egypt's singing career since she was eleven years old and says Egypt is, 'super talented and good!'

So don't forget to tune in tonight to see Egypt on Rising Star starting at 8pm and definitely don't forget to download their app so you can help us vote her through tonight!

P.S. - Seriously, she rides horses, so we HAVE to vote her through! You knew the crazy horse lady on the radio had to mention that...

More on Eqypt from her mother, Dalena Dixon:

Texarkana native, Egypt Dixon, to be on ABC's new summer series: Rising Star

San Diego, California - ABC announced the next round of performers on “Rising Star”listed below, in no particular order. Included in this list of performers is Texarkana native, Egypt Dixon; previously known in the Ark-La-Tex as Aaleliah Dixon.

Egypt (18) is a 2014 graduate of Texarkana Options Academy and recently relocated to San Diego with her mother and brother to pursue a career in music. Egypt has performed all across the Ark-La-Tex area at community and private events including Texarkana Sparks in the Park, Four States Fair & Rodeo, DeKalb Oktoberfest and Relay For Life.

“Rising Star” executive producers, Ken Warwick ("American Idol") and Nicolle Yaron ("The Voice"), kicked off a nationwide search for talent earlier this year and sent production members traveling to Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, New York and Boston for in-person auditions. Internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter Josh Groban is hosting the new series. While country music superstar Brad Paisley, music sensation Kesha and hip hop artist and actor Ludacris, comprise the expert panel. "Rising Star" completely reinvents the traditional singing competition as the audience, for the
first time ever, has the final say in real time. During the performances, viewers vote in real time via an App to determine if the singer will advance in the competition. If the voting reaches a certain threshold, the performer moves on. In addition, the performer can see how the voting is going throughout the performance as voter profile pictures are revealed on The Wall.

To vote for your favorite contestants and Raise The Wall, home judges (viewers) can download the Rising Star ABC app through the Apple App Store, Windows Market Place, or the Google Play Store. The free and user friendly App is essential to participate in the voting process. “Rising Star” airs on Sundays 9|8c 7m. For more information on the show, the app and the performers go to www.abc.go.com/shows/rising-star.

"Rising Star" is executive produced in the U.S. by Ken Warwick ("American Idol") and Nicolle Yaron ("The Voice"). The series is from Keshet DCP, the joint venture between Keshet International (KI), the global distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, and DC Media, the parent company of dick clark productions (dcp).
