Just before 4 p.m. today, the National Weather Service in Shreveport issued a severe thunderstorm warning for our region.

The warning covers southwestern Caddo Parish, central Bossier Parish and northwestern DeSoto Parish in Louisiana, as well as southeastern Harrison County and eastern Panola County in northeast Texas, until 5 p.m.

At 3:55 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from six miles southeast of Carthage to 10 miles southeast of Deberry to six miles south of Stonewall, moving north at 25 miles per hour.

Expect wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, along with damage to roofs, siding and trees.

Impacted areas are: Shreveport, Bossier City, Carthage, Greenwood, Blanchard, Waskom, Stonewall, Elysian Fields, Fosters, Eastwood, Deberry, Scottsville, Keachi, Longstreet, Bethany, Frong, Ferguson, Woods, Keatchie and Bellevue.
