The Shreveport Fire Department is dedicated to saving lives through fire prevention and detection, and they know that many people in some neighborhoods just don't have the money to buy smoke detectors for their home.

This Saturday morning February 27th, the Shreveport Fire Department will be installing smoke alarms in the Caddo Heights neighborhood. Fire personnel and volunteers will meet at Caddo Heights Elementary School, 1702 Corbitt St. at 8:30 am. Crews will start installing 9 a.m. throughout the neighborhood north of Corbitt Street between Linwood Avenue and Mansfield Road.

The fire department will reach as many residents as possible before meeting back at the school at noon. The Smoke Alarm program helps to reduce the loss of life and property. For any information feel free to contact Fire Prevention at 673-6740.
