Shreveport Gets a Double Dose of First-Class
First it was Delta. Now American Airlines has announced that it, too, plans to return first-class service to Shreveport Regional Airport.
American says it will begin serving Shreveport Regional twice-a-day with its new Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft on Tuesday, August 19th. The new aircraft has 63 seats and nine of them will be first-class.
Delta plans to start first-class service on July 2nd with its new 110-seat Boeing 717.
“We are thrilled that 2014 is shaping up to be a very successful year for Shreveport Regional Airport, as our passenger activity continues to rebound and airlines are responding to the growing demand by introducing larger aircraft into SHV,” said Airports Director Bryant Francis. “We have been working diligently to convince our airlines that this market can support more seats, larger aircraft, and additional nonstop destinations, and we’re encouraged by the move American is making to provide a higher level of service for our customers while increasing overall seat capacity.”
