Shreveport native, 18-year-old Sam Burns, is no stranger to the game of golf. In fact, in less than a week, Burns will head to Scotland to compete in the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup.

Being 1 of 6 of the best junior boys in the country who will compete at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, Burns is excited about his journey. It looks like all of the time spent at East Ridge Country Club has payed off.

"To have the opportunity to go over there, it's really just a great honor for me to be able to represent America and all my friends and family."

After leading Calvary to it's fifth straight championship, Burns won the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and is the 2014 Junior PGA Champion. Although, Scotland is looking to be his biggest challenge yet.

"I haven't been that far. There'll be some nerves, traveling to a foreign country, playing over there. I've never played golf over there. People with the Ryder Cup have really helped us out and got us pictures of the course and wind direction and all that kind of stuff so it's all of just preparing in your mind before you go over there."

Congratulations to Sam! Play well!
