A Shreveport man has died in a wreck in a Dallas-Fort Worth suburb.

Just before 2:30 this morning, emergency personnel were called to a crash at westbound Bedford Euless Road near Boulevard 26.

Authorities say the driver of a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass left the roadway, went over a curb and struck a light pole in the center median. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling faster than the posted speed limit before the crash occurred.

The driver, identified only as a 52-year-old white male from Shreveport, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified. His passenger, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
