Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins has taken the first step in fulfilling a campaign promise, by nominating  the City of Shreveport's first ever Chief Technology Officer.

Mayor Perkins has nominated Keith Hanson for the position, which will be the first of it's kind in the city. Hanson is the former President of Ruby Shore Software, and has spent years promoting and advocating for Shreveport's tech industry. Hanson was a candidate for Shreveport's City Council in 2018, but did not gather enough votes for a spot in the December runoff.

During Hanson's campaign, he pushed tech concepts to help with everything from the city's economy to assisting policing efforts in the community. Concepts that were mirrored in Perkin's Mayoral Campaign.

Hanson will not automatically assume a position, instead of an "appointment" this will be a nomination, and will have to go before the Shreveport City Council at their January 8th meeting.
