On Tuesday, the NAHL announced the winners of their divisional awards and its no surprise our Shreveport Mudbugs brought home a lot of hardware. The Bugs have one heck of a season and are driving to win their first ever Robertson Cup in the NAHL.

Team Captain Dominick Procopio lead the team in honors, earning a spot on the All South Division Team, winning South Division Defenseman of the Year and the South Division Community Service Award.

Also earning some hardware to add to the trophy case at George's Pond:
South Division Coach of the Year: Karlis Zirnis, Shreveport Mudbugs
South Division General Manager of the Year: Scott Muscutt, Shreveport Mudbugs
South Division Organization of the Year: Shreveport Mudbugs

Jack Clement, Cole Quisenberry and several others were named to the South Division Rookie Team.

Later today, the NAHL will announce the league wide awards including Most Valuable Player, Forward of the Year, Defenseman of the Year, Vaughn Goaltender of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, General Manager of the Year, Executive of the Year and Organization of the Year, along with the Academic Achievement Award, Leadership Award and Community Service Award.

So, if the Divisional awards are any indication, it could be a huge year for the Bugs. Last year, Scott Muscutt won GM of the Year and the Bugs won organization of the year.

Now, with all that being said and as exciting as this all is, we still got lots of hockey left to play. The Bugs will be in Lonestar Friday night looking to close out their second round series against the Brahmas. If you don't want to drive to Ft. Worth, there will a game watch party at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum. You can find more details on that on the Mudbugs' Facebook Page.
