Shreveport Officer Kills Suspect in Domestic Violence Incident

The incident happened Sunday afternoon in the front yard of a home on San Jacinto Avenue. Police got a call about a disorderly person in that neighborhood.

An officer arriving at the scene fired at least one shot striking the suspect in the upper body. The suspect was transported to University Health Hospital where he later died.

Investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau responded to the scene and launched their investigation. Evidence was collected and witnesses were interviewed. The investigation continues at this hour.

The officer was placed on paid departmental leave per departmental policy and procedure.
