If you heard shots being fired and saw several emergency vehicles at Mall St. Vincent this morning it was due to an active shooter training situation.

Shreveport police, fire, and medical were all on the scene training for what needs to be done if an active shooter situation were to take place. Sheriff Steve Prator was talking about all the angles going in to the drill saying "There is so many aspects of this and unknown variables. Its not like a chemical formula where you mix things together and it comes out the same each time..."

Several drills have been conducted here in Shreveport mainly focused on law enforcement response. But, today's drill, though the police were involved was mainly focused on EMS and how to deal with people in the situation needing medical attention.
