An overnight shooting sends a 16-year-old boy to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Just after 8 p.m., patrol officers were called to Fire Station 6 to a report of a juvenile who had arrived after suffering a gunshot wound to the foot.

The victim told police he was in the 1600 block of Knox Street, when he heard gunshots. He sais he was shot by someone who fled the scene after firing more than a dozen rounds. The teen was taken to University Health with a non-life-threatening wound.

Evidence gathered at the scene suggests the suspects fired numerous rounds, which were heard by nearby residents. No suspects have been named so far. The shooting remains under investigation.
