Clerks at six businesses in Bossier Parish have been ticketed for selling alcohol to minors.

Agents with the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force checked 22 businesses in the city and parish over the past two weeks to make sure they were in compliance with city and parish ordinances regarding underaged alcohol sales. Agents checked seven businesses in the Benton area and 15 in Haughton and Bossier City.

Of the 22 businesses checked, 16 were found to be in compliance. Six received citations for selling alcohol to those under age 21. They are:

  • Valero at Benton Road and Viking Drive
  • Dixie Mart at Benton and Brownlee Roads
  • Dixie Mart at Highway 3 and Burt Boulevard
  • Country Junction at Highway 3 and Highway 162
  • Willow Chute at Palmetto Road near Linton Road
  • The Cellar at Airline Drive near Swan Lake Road

"We will continue to crack down on the selling of alcohol to underage buyers," said Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington. "Our goal is 100% compliance with the law, and we will hold businesses and clerks accountable who don't comply."
