Sligo Road Bridge in Bossier Parish Closed Until Further Notice
Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development closed the bridge on Sligo Road over Red Chute Bayou near Sligo Country Store Saturday afternoon due to high water, drift accumulation, damaged bents and indeterminate severe erosion at the abutments.
Water is still rising in this area, and LaDOTD says repairs to the bridge will be made as soon as it is safe to do so. Closure time is unknown since high water prevents a complete assessment.
Detour via Caplis-Sligo Road and Highway 71.
Bossier Sheriff's Office patrol deputies will continue to monitor bridges throughout the parish in conjunction with LaDOTD, Bossier Parish Police Jury and Bossier Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness to keep residents safe.
